#DailyPost
The room was dark and little,
with so much debris all over.
I knew there was something precious in there,
so into the heap of debris, my hand went,
it felt sticky and the smell that emanated,
could kill a ghost all over again.
Suddenly, my hands felt something,
a live thing, beating as though my own heart,
Carefully, I brought it out and lo and behold,
twas indeed my abandoned heart.
Abandoned in the pursuit of selfish gains and logic,
I didn’t even realise I had abandoned it.
I took it and fit it back,
where it belonged and made it a promise,
never to abandon it again, for anything in the world.
Wow I would say simple and powerful. Nice poem, made me read and re-read it again and again.
